The villa was very clean and well looked after, it was in a good location and the owner was very helpful.
Great scenery on Norfolk and lots of history if the Pitcairn History is your thing, great to talk to locals and find hidden 'stuff'. Hire a car, try and organize it with the accommodation and it will be at your stay when you get there and you can leave it there when you leave, no hassles with hire company. Take some food with you if you are in an apartment with cooking facilities, take your crackers and vegemite, stores are sometimes a little empty and quite expensive for staples.
We almost seemed like the youngest couple driving around ( and we are 60 + ) and as we surf had our surfboard on the hire car looking for surf.( take soft racks as the cars are small ) and found a few hidden surf spots around the island. The water temp was 16-18 and really not too cold, not enough for a steamer.
Buy your alcohol on the way out as the duty free is not available on the way back. Lots of fishing just off the island, the fishing charter guys get a few people on board, saw one boat go out with at least 8 on board but came back with lots of, they call them Trumpeter, but looked to me like Red Emperor.
The accommodation was quite good at Broad Leaf villas, the people running the villas were very friendly and keen to let you know the ins and outs of the island. The rooms are quite modern with all facilities although no air-con as they have electricity restrictions on the island. Lovely welcome fresh rolls and a salad in the fridge on arrival.
So all in all a great place to get away and really not that far from home. Would recommend wholly for a short holiday.
I loved the place and the host jay leigh was lovely and we will definitely be back when we can. Norfolk Island is the nicest place I have ever been too. The locals treat you with respect no like on the mainland. Thank you Norfolk Island.
We really appreciated the welcome pack supplied by JayLeigh - especially when fresh food was in such short supply. She recognized that due to the arrival time of our flight and time difference that we might be wanting lunch at a time when no cafes were open. She was also a great source of information for island activities and locations.
Accomodation was lovely- Kirsty was a great host! Very laid back. Car hire was awesome, getting around the island was too easy. Fish fry was well worth the $$. Bakery at the shopping centre - amazing!!! 4 museum pass is also worth the $$...history buffs will love it! Swimming in Emily bay is a must!

Broad Leaf villas are comfortable and modern. Karlene is very helpful in helping guests settle in. It was lovely to have a mid-week service with fresh towels. Everything worked well, including the car.
Broad leaf villas are spacious unit in a nice location. The facilities were very good and had been well maintained. The Norfolk Islanders were generally very friendly and the island has both historical interest and beauty.
The villa was well appointed, modern and spacious. Set in beautiful tropical gardens. They were happy to accommodate our request for three single beds. Even though three of us were accommodated in a one bedroom villa, we never felt like it was too small. The location was an easy walk to Burnt Pine shopping district and some of the best restaurants on the island. The owners and staff were fantastic, providing fresh fruit and eggs for us to use. If I make it back to Norfolk, I'll definitely stay at Broad Leaf villas again.
